Question: how big are these pills
Answer: Medium size pills. In other words, not uncomfortably large. -
Question: Does this product contain the root or root extract?
Answer: If you take a turmeric supplement for its anti inflammatory attribute, then it's curcumin you're actually looking for. This nutriflair supplement contains only 62 mg of pure curcumin per capsule! I know, it's very misleading. The 1300 on the front of the label represents the combined ingredients of each TWO CAPSULE serving. Some curcumin supplements contain more than 1000 mg of pure curcumin per capsule. 62 mg is not enough to provide any benefit. -

Question: How long before seeing effects?
Answer: After two months NO EFFECTS, doubled dosage for another month with still NO EFFECTS at all only wasted money. Trying Milk weed thistle and alfalfa tea now, only been drinking them for a week now but I think they are having some effects. Tumeric is a waste, try to teas. Danny -

Answer: Yes, it has 10mg of black pepper, 100mg of standardized curcuminoids and 1200 mg of tumeric. My herbal teacher said that is the best proportions for effectiveness. -
Question: How would one know if this product does not contain lead?
Answer: You will need to ask the manufacturer specifically if the pet peeve of mine for many years as much of the Tumeric supply comes from India where there are horrific levels of toxins in the water supply. To make matters worse many companies use a Blackpepper extract bioperine that has issues all by itself and although it does increase absorption of the Tumeric it will also increase absorption of contaminants. everybody is just happy to make a buck selling Tumeric few companies want to even talk about it they are happy to let you swallow whatever it is they sell. a decent company will test each batch of their production specifically for contaminants that are well-known to permeate the water supply in India where much of the Tumeric comes from -
Question: I can't swallow pills. Can I open the capsule?
Answer: I don't see any reason you can't open the capsules. It will be very spicy tasting if you use it in a shake. Great pain killers. -
Question: What is the advantage of buying turmeric (and black pepper) in capsules instead of getting it in bigger packages in my grocery store? Any idea? Thanks
Answer: I'm assuming you mean purchasing loose/bulk in your spice dept? If so, I want an exact dosage amount per capsule that's packaged as a health supplement. I'd think the potency of the bottles/pills purchased from a particular supplement company sould be the same - or very close (being sold for health purposes) vs the potency of a product sold mainly for cooking.
