Star brite Outdoor Collection Premium Teak Oil is the finest sealer/preserver/finish for protecting teak from sun and weather. Apply to dry teak surfaces using a clean cloth, sponge or brush. Follow direction of wood grain during application to maximize penetration of oil into wood. Wait 5 minutes, then wipe a clean cloth over treated surfaces to remove excess oil. Apply a second coat if wood is extremely porous. |

Question: does this oil have sealers as wll as the oil? I'm looking for just the oils as I don't want any other finish on my indoor teak furniture.
Answer: Nope, it's just the oil. Does not have any varnish or anything else. Really dry teak will soak up a lot of oil, but just make sure not to put it on too heavy so it doesn't get sticky. -
Question: Could a marine spar varnish be applied after this dries (as a top coat/protectant for outdoor furniture)?
Answer: It is not recommended or necessary to apply varnish after oil. It will make it much more difficult to refinish in the future, and likely will not adhere well. -
Question: how many pieces of furniture will 16oz cover?
Answer: It covered a dining table, four chairs, a coffee table, sofa (with cushions), a loveseat (ditto) and a small side table. -
Question: does this product work well with indoor shower stools made of teak?
Answer: Absolutely -
Question: I bought this product, used 2/3 of the bottle. Now a hard waxy substance inside the bottle clumps on bottom & at level of oil. How to dissolve it?
Answer: It's ok -
Question: Will this work better than spar varnish on new cedar adirondack chairs?
Answer: They are not one and the same at all. Spar will help waterproof your cedar chairs, isn't it a marine finish? What I've used has been, and it's a totally different finish. The Star Brite Teak Oil is for teak, and I've used it on indoor teak. It needs to be reapplied from time to time, and it seems to have a wax in it; when the container gets old (like about 6 months), it gets a bit gloppy. -
Question: Can this also be used on redwood?
Answer: Yes, you can use on all fine woods and surfaces like decks, fences, and furniture. -
Question: is there a difference between this product in your outdoor collection and the 816 or 851 teak oil's you offer, or the one from HD? If so what is it?
Answer: Its ok. -

Answer: Absolutely
