Question: How big is the mopping pad?
Answer: 11x4" -
Question: For those that have washed the sponge, do you hand wash it?
Answer: I have owned the OXO mop with respective sponge for 2 years and a couple months before hitting 2 year mark the sponge is starting crumble. I only hand wash it too. I come from a long line of Latina housekeeping women and would not stand behind this product. Plus, unsure why this corporation cannot produce products with reasonable biodegradable content/materials. Practically everything is biodegrade to some extent; however reducing the time span is a bonus for consumers like me. I may opt to just using a course rag in place of this mop head, because in my impression that is how ineffective the sponge is for the price and brand. -
Question: Everything about this is perfect, except one major flaw. How is it possible to wring the sponge so it doesn't leave a trail of water when mopping?
Answer: I wring the mop out good before using it on the floor. When it is damp it works best. I then use a brush to clean the mop surface. I have been using this product for over two years, and from time to time, replace the head. -
Question: Brick floors tear up sponge mops. Will this mop with the microfiber layer over the sponge prevent this? Has anyone used this mop on a brick floor?
Answer: I have not used in on brick, but I have found it to be a real chore with rough surfaces. The mop is sturdy so far, but the design interface with the handle causes the mop head to flip forward and backward when encountering rough surfaces making easy mopping of rough surfaces very difficult. -
Question: Is this the mop pad with the straps that fits on the head of the mop and if not does oxo still sell that model?
Answer: Yes it fits perfectly.
