Question: Is this the standard ginkgo 24/6 extract or just the less expensive 24%flavone glycosides without the 6% terpene lactones, the quality ones are 24/6?
Answer: My undergrad is in biochemistry from cal poly and I researched it a bit. I use it and I think some of the terpene lactone discussion is really overblown. So much of what we seen posted today is from bloggers and I doubt any of them have any chemistry degrees, and they just like to pontificate...just bunk... I think the product is good. Just my 2 cents... -
Question: Does this help with tinnitus ear ringing?
Answer: Here is a clip from a publication in American Family Physician, a rescuable medical journal: TINNITUS Another common indication for ginkgo is tinnitus. A recent study of 1,121 subjects conducted using questionnaires and telephone interviews, without the use of standard audiometric testing as an outcome measure, failed to show a benefit of ginkgo in the treatment of tinnitus. Another randomized, placebo-controlled trial30 of 103 patients showed 50 percent of patients with new-onset tinnitus had improvement or disappearance of symptoms in 70 days compared with 119 days to improvement in those receiving placebo. A review of five heterogenous randomized controlled trials concluded that extracts of ginkgo biloba are moderately effective in treating tinnitus. The author was: VICTOR S. SIERPINA, M.D., is associate professor of family medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Dr. Sierpina received his medical degree from the University of Illinois, Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine, Chicago. Question: What kind of gelatin used?
Answer: Standard collagen by product in dry form. No oil present but has rice flour. Capsules contain a fine, beige-yellow powder and it is the standard 24% ginkgo flavones or glycosides at 120 mg with 240 capsules to the bottle. Best effect (clarity of mind...subtle but noticeable after a month or so) obtained at 2 to 3 capsules per day. Some changes indicate improving health and better overall circulation (ED) but it takes time. Been on Gingko for over 5 years. Unique and recommended. -
Question: Country of origin?
Answer: On the back of bottle it says nutricost, made in USA, no other country is anywhere on bott -
Question: Is it gluten free?
Answer: Yes, it is gluten free :) -
