Answer: Here was the response I received. Hello Diane, The peas are shipped to Asia because they are primarily used in making noodles. The pea protein is a byproduct of this process and the demand for the noodle material is much higher than the protein in Asia. Question: Can anyone tell me about the likelihood of this product containing a high level of heavy metals? I have read a lot about brown rice having that.

Question: The label says there is 15mg of Cholesterol per serving! Where is the Cholesterol coming from?
Answer: I contacted Naked Nutrition directly. They responded stating that the first labels were imprinted incorrectly. The new labels have been changed to show zero cholesterol. There is only one ingredient in their pea protein and that is peas. It is vegan. Hope this helps. -

Answer: Though they aren't labeled organic, the label does state that they use environmentally-friendly farming practices and are exclusively from farms in the United States & Canada. They also use mechanical water-extraction without the use of chemicals for processing, which results in a superior amino acid profile. Their are no additives in this product, just peas.
