I bought a pair of these Tap Turners for my wife, who has very bad rheumatoid arthritis, and as a concept, I do have to say that the principle of the tap adaptors is first class. The only problems for me (as I was the one having to attach them to our taps) were;- 1. As others' have discovered and mentioned, there is a tendency for the adaptors to "split" when trying to get the rounded end over the crosshead (of the tap) 2. That because when one turns on or off taps, one turns the top counter-clockwise (for ON), whilst the adaptors' may work well for individual taps, there's a bigger problem if one has - as we do - mixer taps, for then one has to work out the best way to fit the adaptors, so that they don't/won't interfere with the spout! (of course, there is a way, but it was rather fiddly to do!) Where there might be a problem with the adaptors (from a manufacturing point of view) is that the cut-out on their rounded end is of a size that I would suggest is for a different sized crosshead tap to the ones we have, and possibly what others on here have as well, for I would also suggest that it's because the bulbous ends on the crosshead section are large, that the plastic "splits". I must admit that I did try unscrewing each of the four bulbous ends of the tap - without any success (must all be moulded in one piece) but should anyone else want to see whether the bulbous ends of their crosshead taps undo, i believe that you would be the fortunate persons not to split the plastic, as at least you would be able to screw the bulbous ends back on, once the adaptor was in place. Having struggled to get the adaptors on our taps, my wife decided that although her fingers and hands were much affected, she wasn't at that stage where she needed the adaptors on the taps "yet", so muggins 'ere had to remove them (and believe you me, that's a completely different ball game!) Now, for those who wonder why I've given the adaptors 4 stars, I would say that in essence there's nothing wrong with them at all, although one does have to consider whether the crosshead taps one has have really big bulbous ends or small ones, and also whether it is possible or not to remove those ends, for if yours are smaller, the adaptor should fit on well, and if your crosshead ends screw off, then again that should make it very easy to fit the adaptors.

Bought these for an arthritic relative to use on outdoor taps. While designed for X head (4 contact points) taps, they also work well on taps which just have 2 contact points ( ie a _____ head rather than a X head). Excellent value and they work.
