Question: Does this have the gel inside?
Answer: Yes the gel is inside each one. I found it very effective. I changed it more frequently then they suggested, and the healing time seemed very acceptab -
Question: I am allergic to adhesives, including the bandaid brand hydroseal bandaids. does this have adhesive on it? or is it adhesive due to the gel?
Answer: There’s no glue adhesive. There is a thin foam pad covered with about 1/16 inch of gel. They stick because a new patch gel is sticky. I use these on both elbows for protection. a long sock with the toe cut out goes over my arms which is enough to keep them in place and not get stuck and curl off. On a pressure sore I use paper tape around the edges. -

Question: Are these self adhesive?
Answer: Yes, they are self adhesive, it is helpful to use skinprep wipes to seal the skin oils for a better stick but will work without it.. Also best to leave it on as long as possible for best healing (up to 1 week if it doesn't leak) -
Question: Do I need to clean the wound before use? Use alcohol or something else…
Answer: Yes. The product is sterile but it is not an antiseptic. The wound must be clean before covering with DuoDerm. Once on it stays on for a days as directed. -
Question: Are the duoderm cgf bandages waterproof? Can I shower with it on?
Answer: Shave area around where you apply bandage.. It is important no leakage or bandage loosening. Add paper tape around to make sure it doesn’t loosen. Water and sweat will tend to loosen. Keep it dry.use shower cap and or small towel with a trash bag covering. Have a edge distance of. 1 1/4 as brochure. Shower but provide good protection to prevent water from loosening. Duo derm is expensive so protect it for the days your dr. recommends If it loosens install a new one. Wound has to be sealed from air. -
Question: How does this product work? Does it regrow skin? I have a pressure sore on tailbone with no drainage. Will this heal it
Answer: The product works by creating an environment for the skin to heal. A pressure sore can be infected down to the bone. This pressure sore must be seen by a doctor now. Do not use this product for this sore unless directed to do so by a doctor. -
Question: do you need a secondary dressing over the duoderm? if so what would you suggest?
Answer: No, it works very well alone. It pulls the stuff out of the wound and heals it faster. You leave it on until it starts to come off by itself. -
Question: I need a Duoderm that is 3mm-5mm thickness. Do you have that available?
Answer: I wish they did! No such item I know. I have stacked the pads when necessary -
Question: What is the expiration date on these?
Answer: I bought on 7/3/18. Box and inside wrapped product both have lot number and date. My date is 11/20. Never says it is an expiration date. Each sheet is separately wrapped and sealed and sterile. My guess is that it will last indefinitely if kept dry, out of the light, at room temperature and unopened.
