Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question: I used it on my wood floor. Accidentally walked on the treated floor then walked on carpet. How to remove the stain on the carpet?
Answer: I’d try soaking with spot remover and if that isn’t good enough try hydrogen peroxide- I’ve gotten many a stain out of carpet (after first using carpet cleaners) with hydrogen peroxid -
Question: How long does it take to dry..i used it on a coffee table..looks great..
Answer: It takes a while to get dry, but be careful putting your arms on the table because if you are wearing a long sleeve shirt it will stain. -
Question: Can it be used on black wood?
Answer: Yes absolutely. Follow instructions. Do not leave oiled rag unventilated. -
Question: Can i use this on dark grey floors?
Answer: I'm not for sure that you'd be able to tell. But honestly I bought these for my brown hardwood floors and it doesn't really adhere to the wood where there's a scratch or dent anyway. Maybe my wood floors are not that absorbent but I can't use these for what I bought it for and this absolutely more than I can use in 2 years! It also makes the floor really slick and shiny where you use it. -
Question: Can I use it on espresso color kitchen cabinets ?
Answer: I would think it would work fine on espresso colors cabinets. It is very dark. -
Question: Is this the right color for natural cherry cabinets of should I use the formula for light wood?
Answer: I would use the light (regular). This is pretty dark, and stains pretty well. You could just try using the dark, just a little on the nick or scratch and rub in well. Then use the other for the rest of the piece of furniture, hoped this helped. -
Question: What do you use to apply?
Answer: I use a material like a old soft towel or something made of cotton like an old worn out t-shirt cut into square rags. I apply a few drops to the material and polish in a circular motion then go over with a cloth without the polish to absorb any excess oil film, but leaves a beautiful luster and shine. I hope this tip helps answer your question. -
Question: Can Old English be applied to Polyurethane finished wood?
Answer: I do not use it on my own small filing cabinet which, I think, is wood, but has a thick coating of polyurethane. -
Question: Can I use this on unfinished wood furniture?
Answer: It's made for, like, walnut-stained furniture. It will bring back the nice walnut stain in areas where it has rubbed off. It will also give your furniture a nice "glow and polish" to make it look a little newer. I think there are two kinds of Old English polish - the one for dark stained furniture and the one for probably light stained furniture. I've only used the dark stain kind. I think it would give unfinished wood a slight, but unpleasant-looking bit of color.
