Answer: The first answer is flawed. 275mg of the powder contains 99mg potassium. The math varies since powders weigh differently. They claim 800mg = teaspoon, so 800mg powder would have approx 288 mg potassium. Therefore a teaspoon of product is 288mg usable potassium. If indeed 800mg product equals a teaspoon -
Question: How much potassium is in one serving/scoop?
Answer: Each serving/scoop equals 99 mg. potassium citate. This product comes with a 1/8 tsp scoop. I know it's 1/8 tsp because I measured exactly one level scoop of the product and then poured it into a 1/4 tsp measure of the same shape; it filled it halfway. The label says to take one scoop (1/8 tsp) daily. The confusion is that the bag lists one scoop as 275 mg. But below that it clarifies that one scoop contains 99 mg. of potassium citrate. That means that if you take one scoop (1/8tsp), you are getting 99 mg. Dosage recommendations for any over-the-counter potassium supplement will be that low as required by law because many people have serious health issues and are on medication for things like kidney disease, high blood pressure and heart disease. In those cases, too much potassium could possibly cause serious damage or death. if their doctors have them on potassium restricted diets. -
Question: How small/big is the scoop? A tsp?
Answer: If you get a milligram scale, and weigh the contents of the plastic scoop - and compare to the weight of a level 1/8 tsp (I used a metal spoon with a scraper) - the results differ by 100+ mg. Also - because of the clinginess (my best guess) of the product, taking 4 separate weighed measurements from both the plastic scoop and a 1/8 tsp measure - each measure will vary. I tested the scoop, 1/8, 1/4 and 1/2 tsp measures, and averaged them to determine how I wanted to dose this product. -
Question: What's the difference between Potassium Chloride and the citrate version?
Answer: They are used for different health conditions and are not supposedly interchangeable. Please research which is best for you. The reason I use citrate is the electrolyte mixes I am replacing by using this product (With lemon, magnesium and sea salt) use citrate and not chloride. -

Answer: Hi Annette, 1/8 tsp contains 1250 mg of this powder. Also, I bought some and found it absorbs moisture from the air, so even if you bought a scale you might not get an accurate weight. You might ask your doctor about a prescription medication called Urocit K. It is time released potassium citrate in pill form. I have read about that and other options to avoid developing kidney stones. I hope this helps. -stev -
