Question: Why does this say "nut-free" if there is sacha inchi in this powder?
Answer: The sacha inchi plant, Plukenetia volubilis, is a rainforest vine, with star-shaped seed pods, meaning that these Inca peanuts are technically seeds, not nuts. -
Question: The label says causes cancer and reproductive harm and birth defects. Can you please explain this!?
Answer: The "California sticker" that people are so upset about is 100% standard in California and on absolutely everything. I wouldn't be worried. For example, I bought a 100% natural wooden bench. It came with a sticker that said wood dust caused cancer and reproductive harm and birth defects. Go California! They should really be more careful because once you put that label on everything, it's not informative anymore! -
Question: Where are the ingredients sourced from ? Any ingredients sourced from or processed in, China?
Answer: 4 of the 15 ingredients are from China, but they, like all of our ingredients are certified organic and 3rd party tested in the US per USP's (US Pharmacopeia) strict standards. Question: Does it taste good in water?
Answer: All of our products are formulated to taste great in just water. In the particular case of Epic Protein : Vanilla Lucuma, it's best with 2 scoops of protein powder in 8 oz of liquid, shaken well or blended. Question: Anyone found a good alternative to this? i buy a lot, but am concerned it may contain lead and producer won't release its certificate of analysis.
Answer: All plant-based ingredients contain trace levels of naturally occuring metals. Roots like beets or leafy greens like spinach, even grown organically in the US, uptake more from the soil than others. We abide by California's Prop 65 warning requirements which are significantly more stringent than any regulation from Europe, Canada or even any other state in the US. You would likely consume more metals from a serving of salad with herbs than from our plant-based protein powders. Thanks for your important question! -

Question: Does this have an aftertaste?
Answer: We flavor with real ingredients like red banana, real vanilla bean, cinnamon, ginger, lucuma and others. There's no weird, fake or overly sweetened aftertaste that you typically find with plant proteins that use "natural" flavoring. Question: Is “original” flavorless? If not, what does it taste like?
Answer: It's a bit nutty in taste, but pretty flat, quite pleasant. -
Question: Can you list a typical protein profile?
Answer: Low Fat, Low Sodium, Low Carbs but high Fiber, Low Sugar (especially added sugar), High Protein, High Potassium. Lots of Flavonoids, Lots of Vitamins (but not so much - some- but not so much Vitamin A, D, E, and K - they need to be taken with foods high in fat). Low Sodium is the hard part. -
Question: are there strawberries in any of these formulas?
Answer: None of our formulations currently use strawberry, thank you!
