Was in the bush for 5 days completely surrounded by mosquitoes and black flies. I ended up with one bite the entire trip and it happened overnight. Stuff is fantastic when used properly.

I followed the instructions of this product and it protected me from a host of flying insects for about a month. The smell is fine, or at least it is not overwhelming. It worked great against mosquitoes and other small gnat-like bugs. I will continue to use this product.

This is all I use because it works. It keeps ticks, mosquitoes and black flies away. AWAY.

Moved from California to Virginia near the water and marsh areas. So many mosquitoes and ticks. So far this is the only thing I’ve found that works against both from what I can tell. If I put this on my daughter or me, as long as I cover everything that is not covered by clothing, it works. Of course with ticks harder to tell, but so far so good. They’re everywhere here with all of the trees and wooded areas.

But then again, nothing does except for steam. You would just think that this should work. Maybe it works against other things. If you clicked on this because you too are dealing with the dreaded scourge, then I'll tell you to save the thousands you are going to end up spending trying to fight them off and get either a wet vacuum that uses steam, or a steam mop with a carpet glider attached. Seal off all cracks and holes. Check windowsills to see if theyr'e coming in through the screen when windows are open. (If so you cant open them or it'll never stop.) I'd say then to use a product like this one but designed for lawns and gardens attached to a hose and do your entire yard and outside of the house or apt building. If you don't know how they're getting in, it' usually after a wall is opened for plumbing or construction. The bird or rodents are in the roof and walls and the mites end up infesting inside the walls even if the animals are removed. Once they are in the house /apt and bite you, it creates a phermone trail like ants do when they send a scout inside and it finds a crumb. Then the rest follow it's trail. When mites do this they'll keep biting the same areas on the person because the phermone trails lead to those areas but some also bite along the way. No amount of scrubbing gets rid of the trail. Peppermint oil in all your body washes/face washes and shampoos is the only thing that makes them let go in the shower. But you can step out of the shower and 5 minutes later walk or sit in an infested area and they're back on you again. So as a recap, treat your yard and outside of building with yard and pet safe spray hose insecticide. Use diluted peppermint oil or bronners peppermint soap on yourself. Use peppermint oil and enzyme cleaner in laundry, washing machine washing cycle. Never put peppermint or any other essential oil in dryer because they're flammable. And use this product for mosquitoes and biting flies etc and camping but if there's any mites around it doesn't seem to have any effect on them.
