Question: What is the source that is used to make the Aminos in this product? Is it soy free? Vegan?
Answer: Pure Encapsulations - Cognitive Aminos contains dl-phenylalanine (free-form) (synthetically produced); taurine (free-form) (synthetically produced); l-tyrosine (free-form) (extracted from soybeans); acetyl-l-carnitine (free-form) (synthetically produced); vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate) is derived from corn dextrose fermentation and palm oil. Cognitive Aminos is soy free. L-tyrosine is fermented from soy, however, the soy protein is removed, and is tolerable even for those individuals with a soy allergy, thus it is considered soy free. It is a vegan friendly formula. -
Question: can i open the capsule and sprinkle it on food? is there any taste? my son can't swallow capsules.
Answer: I hve personally found it very valuable, with neurotransmitters, to take the powder out of the capsule and absorb it sublingually (under the tongue.) Reaches the brain much faster and more efficiently that way, effects are almost instantaneous. The advantage is that it doesn't have to go through the digestive system, which may or may not metabolize enough of the ingredients to make a perceptible difference. -
