    Customer Questions & Answers

    • Question: Is this made from grass-fed beef?

Answer: Our Bone Broth Protein is made with chickens, not with beef. Bone Broth Protein is sourced exclusively from US farms in the Midwest. Due to the multiple farm sources, there is currently not a free range standard for our product. We are working aggressively to establish and verify Animal Wellness Certification standards throughout our entire supply chain. We do offer Organic Bone Broth Protein for those interested in organic.
    • Question: Are the chickens pastured? fed any gmo supplemental foods?

Answer: As of March 2017 I cannot see anywhere on the website where it says it is from free range (if that really means anything) or grass fed chicken. I am not sure where the person that found the comment about the bones being U.S. sourced and free range in October 2016 but I agree with Mike - if these chickens were grass fed it would be all over the place. The container itself says "non-gmo" and "grain free" but that is just talking about the powder ingredients (i.e. they did not add gmo products or grains to the powder after processing) not that the animals were fed non-gmo grains or are grain free.
    • Question: I thought benefits were supposed to be from beef broth...so then, what are the health benefits of chicken broth?

Answer: Both broth has been made from beef, chicken, fish, lamb, turkey, goose, pork and more. Each variety will have its own nutrient profile. It will also depend on the quality or bones (or other parts) used. You'd have to do an online search to get the specific differences. I would say that a variety of different kinds of bone broths would be the most beneficial. The most attractive feature of the Bone Broth Protein in the convenience, cost per serving and taste. • Question: I tried the vanilla mixed with coconut milk. i had to spit it out. how can i make this tolerable? i like green shakes but i don't want to ruin them!

Answer: I'm not sure you can do anything to make it tolerable if you really hate it that much. I, personally, love it. But my husband and sons can't tolerate it even with lots of fruit mixed in. It's a personal preference and if you really can't stand it I'd try to find a different product or try a different flavor of this particular brand. I found the banana creme flavor powder to be my favorite though. If you really want to try to make this work, I'd add some frozen fruit (strawberries, bananas, pineapple, etc) AND some extracts, like a small splash of vanilla extract, strawberry extract, coffee extract, etc. You could also try adding cinnamon or cardamom. I personally make mine with half coconut water, half coconut milk, a few frozen strawberries, a few ice cubes, 2-3 frozen coconut chunks, a tablespoon of flax and a tablespoon of hemp seed.
    • Question: I just ordered this and saw that it is not the same bone broth protein (beef vs chicken). This is not a product featured on the website. Legit?

Answer: The Bone Broth Protein from the beef source is a Marketplace exclusive product.
    • Question: Is there any alcohol in the natural flavoring?

Answer: Ingredients listed include Beef bone broth protein concentrate, MCT (Medium Chain Triglycerides) and hydrolyzed bovine hide collagen peptides. Why would think that alcohol might be one of the ingredients?
    • Question: In the q&a for the flavorless version of this exact same flavor, it was noted that the chickens are not free range at this time. which is correct??

Answer: Bone Broth Protein is a natural product tested free of GMOs. The chickens are sourced sourced exclusively from US farms in the Midwest. Due to the multiple farm sources, there is currently not a free range standard for our product. We are working aggressively to establish and verify Animal Wellness Certification standards throughout our entire supply chain.
    • Question: Is this a complete protein? Is this a suitable substitute for protein powder for working out, when you can't have whey or other protein powders?

Answer: Yes...it is a complete protein. It's a perfect substitute for whey, egg or grain based proteins because it is gut friendly and completely Paleo.
    • Question: Is the vanilla flavor gluten, dairy and soy free?

Answer: Yes! All of our Bone Broth Protein is gluten, dairy, and soy free.
    • Question: Does the Tumeric taste like Tumeric is it orange in color and how many calories in turmeric and the vanilla ?

    Not great taste
I personally didn’t like the taste. It’s hard to disguise in my coffee or shakes. Almost like a fake sugar taste. I’m using but at half a scoop. With the benefits of it, I can get pass the Taste that I don’t like

Doesn't mix well unless put in blender.
Tried the product one day w frozen blueberries, spinach, avocado and used a stick blender. Was good but had a salty aftertaste. The next time I put it in a shaker bottle with ice water. It did not taste very good and again had a salty aftertaste but also had clumps in the bottom of the bottle. If I buy another jar, I'll try chocolate not vanilla.
