Question: I’ve almost finished one bottle...taking it in the morning. But it seems to make me extremely sleepy....does anyone know why?
Answer: Hey Andrada! While it is extremely rare, a very small percent of customers have reported such an effect. You could consider dialing back the amount or stopping altogether to see if that makes you less sleepy. Then perhaps re-introduce but at a much smaller amount dosage wise. Also, explore taking the 5 defenders with and without food too. Everyone is unique so it is hard to determine potential causes. Question: How many grams of reishi is extracted in each capsule?
Answer: Hi, Each serving size is 2 capsules and each capsule contains 500mg of 5 Defenders extract powder. 5 Defenders contains equal portions of Reishi, Chaga, Maitake, Shiitake and Turkey Tail mushroom extracts so each capsule contains 100mg of Reishi extract powder. The Reishi extract powder is a 15:1 dual extract so each capsule would contain an equivalent of 1500mg of dried reishi mushrooms. Hope this helps. To begin, it's important to note that the majority of mycelium research is based on pure mycelium made through liquid fermentation (https://www.nammex.com/how-to-grow-liquid-culture-mycelium/). Essentially, all mycelium based products are not liquid fermentation mycelium, but myceliated grain which is not pure mycelium but mycelium heavily diluted with the grain it grows on (https://www.realmushrooms.com/how-to-identify-myceliated-grain/). Analysis of myceliated grain products have shown them to be more grain than mycelium. These products are not consistent with the scientific literature on mycelium. The majority of medicinal mushroom research is based on the mushroom (fruit body), specifically extracts.
