    Customer Questions & Answers

    • Question: Will it fit a mans shoe size 10?

Answer: Yes, a man who has a size 10 shoe will be able to use this to help him put on his socks. It doesn't look like there is any restriction regarding shoe size because the sock goes on the end of the device and then you slip your foot into the sock.
    • Question: Does it require much strength to use? I’m wanting to buy it for someone who shakes and has some muscle weakness.

Answer: I purchased this set for the sock off device for my mother, so I am answering only for that portion of the set. My mother who is 88 and has bad arthritis in her hands, uses it to take off compression stockings. It does require some strength, but she is able to get the stockings off. She had stopped wearing the stockings at all for a month after my father died because she could not get them off once she put them on. So, there is a trade off: there is some struggle in getting the stockings off, but the device makes it possible for her to wear compression stockings again without calling for assistance every time she gets undressed.
    • Question: Will this work with thigh-high compression stockings too?

Answer: I'm not sure. I know it works well with knee high socks. I've also used it with ankle height socks and small footies. Sorry I can't be of more help.
    • Question: Will it work with Athletic socks?

Answer: According to the description, it will work for Athletic socks, however I am unable to confirm. We have only tried this on a few different types of socks for my 92 year old MIL. I think longer, more tightly knit socks would work for anyone with decent hand strength, but with my MIL's age and arthritis she has, she would probably struggle getting something like an Athletic sock onto this item.
    • Question: I see it has two handles and I'm going to have shoulder surgery on my right shoulder and wondered if it will work with one arm pulling ?

Answer: I tried it this morning just pulling with one hand - it worked. I put both strings in the same hand. However, getting the sock onto the Sock Aid with one hand only might be difficult.
    • Question: Is the narrowist part (where the toes go) of the sock puller, 5" ?

Answer: It is about 4", plenty small enough to get the sock on. Then you just slide your foot right into the sock. It is a life saver for me!!
    • Question: Is there a Video showing sock putting on?

Answer: Not that I know of. It’s easy, pull the sock up all the way on the apparatus. Stick your foot in all the way holding on to the ropes. Get your foot in as far as you can. Pull back and up on the ropes and it will slide right up on to your leg!
    • Question: What is good for compression socks

Answer: My review was about my experience putting on surgical strength compression socks. The takeaway is: it helps, but you still need considerable hand strength. Strength To stretch the sock enough to slip in the plastic tube, and strength to get the sock heel that last inch or so over your own heel. Once the tube is in place, you slip your foot into it & pull the ropes up and back. It helps get the sock started, but you still have to wrestle it over your heel, the hardest part of this whole process. Good luck.
    • Question: It broke in 3 months, is this guaranteed?

Answer: The smallest part of it is 3 3/4 inches, the middle part is 4 inches and the bottom part is 4 1/4 inch
