Question: Is this dna verified and matching the wild cordyceps?
Answer: Hi Henry, This is not wild cordyceps (caterpillar fungus) which was known as cordyceps sinensis and is now known as Ophiocordyceps sinensis. Wild cordyceps is not found in any affordable supplements as it is too expensive. 1 kilo of wild cordyceps can be upwards of $40,000 so it is not an affordable ingredient for supplements. Let me repeat this as there's a lot of deceptive marketing out there. Wild cordyceps are not in any affordable cordyceps supplements. Our product uses Cordyceps militaris (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=cordyceps+militaris) which is a different species of Cordyceps with similar benefits to Ophiocordyceps sinensis as well as magnitudes higher levels of cordycepin (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=cordycepin) which has many benefits. We strictly use the mushroom (fruiting body) for all our products. The reason we use Cordyceps militaris is because it can be cultivated. Cordyceps sinensis cannot be cultivated, hence why the wild Cordyceps is so expensive. Because Cordyceps militaris is able to be farmed and grown without the use of insects, this makes it much more affordable for supplements. Please note, other Cordyceps products claiming Cordyceps sinensis are either Cordyceps Cs-4 which is a pure mycelium product from China made through liquid fermentation or Cordyceps myceliated grain from the U.S. which is a mix of Cordyceps mycelium and grain. Studies have shown myceliated grain to be primarily grain and lacking in the medicinal compounds found in the research. Answer: No they are not. They are one of the cleanest mushrooms you can get here in the USA though.
