Answer: Methylcobalamin is equivalent physiologically to vitamin B12, and can be used to prevent or treat pathology arising from a lack of vitamin B12 (vitamin B12 deficiency), such as pernicious anemia. Methylcobalamin is also used in the treatment of peripheral neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, and as a preliminary treatment for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. -
Question: I have read that sublingual vit b´s are better absrorved and these are not, so I wonder if these have or not the same bioavailability as the others?
Answer: Although this is something many people want to know, the research performed to date does not support the conclusion that sublingual forms of certain vitamins are better absorbed than encapsulated forms. The research does support the conclusion that both the capsule form and the sublingual form (usually vitamin B12) are efficiently absorbed and do correct deficiencies. Nutrients in capsule form are absorbed similarly to nutrients from food; i.e., they are broken down and absorbed in the intestines.
