This manufacturing facility is a highly-controlled GMP facility that is inspected regularly by the FDA. Question: Hi, does this b complex contain inositol (vitamin b8)?
Answer: No, it does not contain inositol. One Capsule Contains: Thiamin (as Thiamin HCl) 40 mg. Riboflavin (25 mg as Riboflavin and 3.6 mg as Riboflavin 5'-Phosphate Sodium) 28.6 mg. Niacin (as Niacinamide) 80 mg. Vitamin B6 (20 mg as Pyridoxine HCl and 3.4 mg as Pyridoxal 5'-Phosphate) 23.4 mg. Folate (200 mcg as Calcium Folinate and 200 mcg as L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate from L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolic Acid, Glucosamine Salt) 400 mcg. Question: What is the difference between these and Thorne Bio-12?
Answer: Thorne's B Complex #12 is a vitamin B formula that contains a balanced amount of B vitamins with extra amounts of vitamin B12 and folate. Vitamin B12 comes in two forms, methylcobalamin (methyl group donor) and adenosylcobalamin (functions in the mitochondria). Thorne's Bio-B12 does not contain a full complex of the B vitamins, but does focus on vitamin B12 (as methylcobalamin) and folate, with support of papain and zinc for absorption. Bio-B12 is designed for optimal nutrient status. -
Question: Why is there only 27% dv of biotin? all the other b levels are great!
Answer: There is no RDA set up for biotin. The Adequate Intake (AI) is about 30 mcg for women/men >18 years. Nuts, such as almonds are a great source of Biotin as well. -
Question: How big are these vegicaps? And do they smell or taste bad. I have tried other b complex vitamins and they are big and taste and smell awful. thanks.
Answer: Hi, they are not horse pills, but not small either. Yes they do smell, but I have tried several b complex vitamins and have not found one yet that does not have that unpleasant smell or taste. My daughter takes them and I take the b complex #12. They are excellent vitamins and in their most bio-available active forms which is important to me. They are worth the unpleasant smell and the capsule form makes them much easier to swallow. -
Question: How do you choose between basic b complex and b complex #12?
Answer: I chose Thorne's B-Complex #12 because of the ratio of B vitamins in it. Each version is higher or lower in each of the different B's. #12 has more B12, for instance. -
Question: Is the capsule content in powder form?
Answer: Yes, and if u take it on an empty stomach u can taste it in the back of ur throat in about 30 mins. Gentle on tummy tho -
Question: Pyroxidine hcl is synthetic, p5p is optimal. why use 20mg of the synthetic useless form of b6 then only 4mg of the absorbable form?
Answer: It is common to combine both forms in a supplement formula, and the P5P is a more active, ready-to-use form; therefore, less is used because it is more bio-active. We also provide a good amount of pyridoxine that will be further converted. Overall, forms get interconverted from pyridoxine to P5P and back to pyridoxine. However, if a person has a genetic polymorphism that makes it difficult to convert to the more active coenzyme form, then the P5P form is supportive and other formulas or additional P5P can be used.
