    Product Description

    The Cast Handle has been used internationally since 1996 by patients immobilized in a long leg cast or brace while recovering from injury or surgery. The Cast Handle has proven useful in assisting individuals who suffer from partial or total leg paralysis through injury to the Spinal cord, multiple sclerosis (MS), and other nerve and muscle-wasting diseases. Most patients suffering from weakened or paralyzed leg muscles are confined to a leg brace or cast. They encounter reduced mobility and daily frustration with the inability of their weakened leg muscles to lift the added weight of a brace or cast without assistance.

    • Question: Will the thigh strap a 30 inch circumference?

      Answer: I do not think it would go that far around but I am not sure. It does help a great deal for what it is designed to do.

    Great product if in a straight leg cast
    My husband loves this . he was in a cast and he could not bend his knee so he used it to lift the leg when he had to sit down or get up or get into the car . The physical therapist were amazed as they seen this item. definitely worthwhile

    Indespensible Product!
    I have been a paraplegic for 12 years. I have been using Cast Handles since I was in rehabilitation. I absolutely could not function without them! I use them for every aspect of my daily living: to get dressed in the morning; to get out of bed; to adjust my legs in my chair during the day (I am frequently in my chair for 12 hours); and, to back into bed at night. These Cast Handles are extremely well made -- strong and durable. They were delivered to me promptly and in excellent packaging. I give this product and the seller the highest possible recommendation and sincere thanks.

    Good for more than just casts!
    I am a paraplegic, and when I was injured, I also broke a leg. During my stay in rehab, I was given one of the Cast Handles to help me move my splinted leg around. I found it so handy that I asked for a second one to use on my other leg, and have worn a pair of these handles on my legs every day for the year and a half since I was hurt... I have recommended them to other paras as well... While most of the time I take care of my own moving, when I'm assisted by others, they also have found the straps helpful, and much more secure than just grabbing my legs. They also work better than trying to grab the fabric of my clothing. (and put less strain on it as well) Two minor things I wish the handles had that make little difference for them in handling casts, but would make them better for me... 1. Make them with "left" and "right" versions with the buckles on opposite sides. I find the handle easy to fasten, and the strap falls in the right place automatically on my left leg, but on my right leg the buckle ends up under my leg - so I have to put the strap on and then twist it around to get the strap where I need it to give me the best ability to lift my legs. 2. The black holding straps blend in fairly well with most of what I wear, and at least don't "fight" with clothes that contrast (black goes with everything....) However the same can't be said of the electric blue handle straps. I would be much happier with the way the straps look if they were ALL black. That said, I find them to be helpful enough in dealing with my non-working legs, that I don't worry all that much about the color....
