      Answer: Hi There, Yes, it is the only way to control for environmental contamination.
    • Question: Is any part of this product manufactured or gone through China?

      Answer: Maybe so, .At the bottom of the KOS container near the bar code it states ,"Made in USA. Food grown in the USA and other countries." I contacted KOS by phone and email and asked for the names of the other countries they source from. They didn't obliged my request. Just sent spin on their product. I suspect they may be sourcing from China due to their lack of transparence. This would also increase their margins and profits! .
    • Question: What country is this from?

      Answer: Hawaii, is a country in the United States. Kos's spirulina container, states, "Foods grown in the United States of America and OTHER COUNTRIES." Why the lack of transparence !
    • Question: Will this product cause acne?

      Answer: I've been using spirulina for about 9 years and never got acne from it. This particular brand spirulina is one of the best quality Ive ever tried. Plus if you make a paste with water from this spirulina and use it as a face mask it might actually help with acne, if not at least it will make your skin toned, supple and glowy.

    Dark and potent green spirulina!
    This product is about what I expected for a jar of spirulina. It is a green-blue as advertised, and the flavor is good (as good as can be for spirulina). It is my first time trying any spirulina as a stand-alone product, and a little bit goes a long way. Product was packaged well and came with a scoop and was sealed nicely when I got it. It was only about half full, but regarding the sale weight it seems about right for the volume of product received. It would be nice though to have it filled up near the top. I just add about a teaspoon to my morning smoothies and it turns it really dark. It blends in well, and most of its taste when mixed in pretty much is indishtinguishable. With other powders and the berry smoothie mix I use but I think that is good since spirulina is not my favorite flavor by it self. I bought this for health though, not and not exactly the flavor. I do like how strongly it colors the smoothies though. I bought some from this seller because I have read many good reviews for KOS products. I like how it is non-irradiated and did not actually know that radiation could be an issue for spirulina. So far, taking it every day I feel good and my gut has been feeling better than before taking the KOS spirulina. If you are hesitant, I would say give it a shot despite it being fairly expensive. However though, at 109 servings per jar, it will last me a long way.

    Great product and affordable it's just that the container was not full when opened ....it looked like it was half way filled.

    Taste isnt there for sure
    It doesn't smell or taste good but I like to mix it with aloe vera,cucumber juice and chlorophyll and it covers the taste. Theres also 3 months worth of servings.

    Heads up: The spirulina is green, not blue
    Knocked off a couple stars for deceiving packaging and product name. It's pretty solid as a superfood but smells pretty fishy as a powder, once you add a little amount to your smoothie it's basically negligible/unable to be noticed outside of the effect that it has on your smoothie's color.
