Question: where is it made?
Answer: Not sure. Nothing on the package. You have to hold it away from what you want to see. Makes it hard to read a book. Not very strong. Sorry I couldn’t help you. -
Question: can you read a book page with the magnifer lying flat on page or do you have to jift ans hold up?
Answer: No. It can't get the magnification effect when lying flat on page. You have to hold up the magnifier. Because the magnifier need some distance between object and lens as focal length. In order to achieve maximum magnification without distortion, the user should position the lens a proper distance from the object. The distance from the magnifier to the object viewed is about 8-10 cm. This distance offers user better viewing experience. -

Question: Is the acrylic safe for laser cutting? Or, could I cut the sheet into a perfect circle, for an art project?

However, due to its' Fresnel lens material , you may see swirl pattern as its' special material . Therefore, we will much recommend you to cut the size from the central part . Question: What is the focal length of the lens?
Answer: This item was not sufficient for my needs. While the college should be taken to task for the disgustingly small text in the (obviously) hastily recompiled textbook they'd only changed just enough words in to make it appear as new content, when it was mostly the same book as the one from the previous year, I ordered this magnifying sheet for support with my homework. The sheet has a fuzzy, hazy look and didn't make reading any easier unless it was pressed directly against the page. I couldn't do that and type at the same time, neither sheets was if any use and both are uselessly sitting in my drawer. -
Question: what about a magnifying sheet to fit a lap top screen?
