Question: How do these compare to the cheap reusable foam earplugs? The ones that you can get like 50 for $10? I heard those are good too
Answer: I have been sleeping with earplugs for nearly 30 years. NYC is rough on sensitive sleepers. The foam ones block out more noise most definitely. The trade off is limited/temporary comfort. The foam ones can end up putting pressure on the nerves in the ear canal which causes pain, or they become irritating at some point, causing inner ear itch. The silicone ear plug are sufficient with no pain. -
Question: Will i still hear mu alarm clock in the morning? (Buying these to block out my husband's snoring)
Answer: I bought these to block out my husband’s snoring. I still hear my alarm, and so far, he’s still alive, I’m not in jail, and we’re still married. Everyone wins! -
Question: How to clean them
Answer: I just used warm water a little soap and dry. They were fine. -
Question: I am a side sleeper, does it work? it looks kind of long and i have firm pillow
Answer: I am a side sleeper and also use a firm pillow, I have no issue with using these. The stems on these earplugs are 1.5 cm long past the last flange. If you insert them so that the stems angle down into the bottom curve of your ear the will likely still extend a little depending on how deeply you insert them into the canal. That said, the material is very soft and while I am aware of the contact between stem and pillow it doesn't bother me. If the little bit that extends past your ear bothered you, it'd be a small matter to snip it off. I however prefer not to shorten the stem as it makes removing them easier. I've used plugs with shorter stems and sometimes they become a bother as the plug would get pushed in a little deeper over the course of the night making removal a chore. -
Question: Will these drown out the screeching sounds my girls make that are devouring my soul?
Answer: I’ve found that I can still more high pitched sounds (ie my son’s screams). So unless your girls are deep baritones, I don’t think they’ll save your soul 😉 -

Answer: I wash it about once/month
