    Overview

    Lavender oil is an essential oil derived from the lavender plant. Lavender use has been documented for over 2500 years. The ancient Egyptians used lavender for mummification and perfume. Romans used lavender oils for cooking, bathing and scenting the air and the name is derived from the Latin verb lavare—which means, “to wash.” The Romans also used lavender oil in soaps and carried it with them throughout the Roman Empire. In Medieval and Renaissance France, women who took in washing for hire were known as “lavenders.” Clothes were washed in lavender and laid to dry on lavender bushes. Lavender was used to scent drawers, perfume the air. It was also recognized in Roman times for its antiseptic and healing qualities. The Ancient Greeks used lavender to fight back aches. The ancient Greeks called Lavender nardus, after the Syrian city of Naarda and was commonly called Nard. Lavender was one of the holy herbs used to prepare the Holy Essence and Nard, or ‘spikenard’ is mentioned in the bible in the ‘Song of Solomon’ among other places. Lavender derives its name from the Latin ‘lavare’ meaning ‘to wash”. The Romans used Lavender to scent their baths, beds, clothes and even hair. They also discovered its medicinal properties.

      Answer: I do not recommend using any oils on an oil burner. It is not good for health... better to use an ultrasonic diffuser.

      Answer: Hello there, Sure, you can do it!
    • Question: Can I put a few drops in a/c filter for all-over effect around the house?

      Answer: We have never experienced such an approach. I would not recommend doing it, in my view. It might admix with some other smells and effect might be not that expected. Have a good day!
    • Question: Why am I receving this oil with this date 12/2019? Does it mean expraition date or sell by?

      Answer: You see the production date.
    • Question: Can this be used in a scrub/exfoliator?

      Answer: Sure, you can add it to the scrub/exfoliator if you do not have an allergy to essential oils.
    • Question: Does it include alcohol?

      Answer: No, not an oil contains alcohol.
    • Question: Is it safe to mix into a dry shampoo?

      Answer: Yes, it is safe if you do not have allergic reactions to the essential oils.
    • Question: Can this be used with lava rock bracelet??

      Answer: Yes, you can do it if the rock is black if white might become a bit yellow.
    • Question: Would this work to add to hand sanitizer gel to make it smell better?

      Answer: i didn’t care for the aroma. i liked coconut better. i used it for natural products on our horses. not sure about hand sanitizer do to the alcohol level in it.

    Scent not Strong Enough
    This lavender oil was ok. I found I had to use quite a bit to achieve the scent I wanted.

    This is a good product for use in my aroma therapy practice. And I find that it was also good for the price.
