Question: Is there two pieces to this? It looks to have pads for eye compression.
Answer: no, it's one piece. The little triangle cut out fits over your nose for when you need to slide it down to cover your eyes. There is some compression to the hat when you have it on, feels so good. I love mine. -
Question: How do you heat this up? How long does it stay heated?
Answer: It says on the directions you can heat it up, make sure it’s at room temperature before you put in the microwave, and then microwave for 10 seconds. If it’s not hot enough to your liking then add 5 seconds and do increments of that until it i -
Question: Does the cooling gel encompass the whole headgear or is it only concentrated in specific areas? Is there any cooling benefit around the ears?
Answer: The cooling gel is throughout the entire Headache Relief Cap. There is no specific benefit to cooling your ears, most of our customers do not find that their ears get too cold while using the cap. If you do find that happening, you can move the cap up more on your forehead so that your ears are not covered completely. -
Question: It works great but there is such a potent, noxious odor. How do I get rid of that since I can’t wash it?
Answer: I noticed the odor too. I washed it with a damp cloth as recommended and let it air out. I may need to do this a few more times as the odor is very strong. -
Question: Is this latex free?
Answer: I think so but I’m not 100% sure. The fabric that covers the material is like nylon but I could not find a label that identifies the exact material used. -
Question: How long does this stay cold? I’ve had gel packs in the past and they do not stay cold for long.
Answer: Our experts recommend that for safe cold therapy, the TheraICE Rx Headache/Migraine Relief Hat stays cold for approximately 10-12 minutes. -

Question: does it help with general calming and/or distressing?
Answer: I'm a migraine sufferer. I use it to help me fall into my migraine "sleep-offs". It's a bit too cold at first so you have to let it warm up for a few minutes--usually about the time it takes to get undressed and prepare for sleeping. It feels a bit tight all over the head except for the ears because that is where the gap in the gel is at and it makes it much more comfortable than other over the head products. If placed correctly where the notch is settled over the nose it blocks out ALL light and sound is muffled. I consider this calming. This item can also be worn upside down ( put long hair in a ponytail on top of your head so it comes out the top of the item). It will still be usable for cooling and a bit of pressure against the temples, around the head, and some sound muffling. But using it upside down this way, you will be able to see. For calming and de-stressing, fill your eyes with green colors. I've painted my walls grass green. My computer screen background is green as is my computer display "theme". I also use the "night light/bedtime" setting at 50% which reduces the harsh blue light onscreen. At 50% it's not really as noticeable unless you're playing a RPG or FPS video game where color is important. I really recommend setting your electronic devices and televisions to turn on the "night light/bedtime" setting a few hours before you go to bed. It really does help with sleep and calming. 50% is good for me, but you may want it to be higher or lower depending upon your device and what you're using it for. -

Question: Hi i just recived my order today and i notice a very awful smell is that how this item supposed to be?
Answer: Mine had a smell too. I let it sit for a couple days, out of the ziplock bag and it went away. Then I froze it for use.
