      Answer: Yes! mine were the same way - a hole or defect about every 3rd straw I went to use. I waited too late to open them to send them back. Now I have about 450 straws I can't use. I would not recommend these straws at all.

      Answer: Yes they are. My wife only drinks coffee, hot teas and soda with these straws.. Durable and priced right.. Worth buying.

      Answer: The box says nothing about being biodegradable, only that it's made in and imported from Vietnam.
    • Question: Does these straws fit 16 oz bottles

      Answer: No, they fall down inside unless you have them bent over the top. Even then they will not reach the bottom of the bottle.
    • Question: are they legal in California?

      Answer: Y
    • Question: Is the reason you purchased or repurchased because of the box or would a zip lock bag be better? Thanks

      Answer: The cardboard box will be recyclable when the straws are gone. Plastic bags like zip lock bags take years to deteriorate in a land fill.
