Question: does it work on tiny gnats ( no-seems)?
Answer: This works amazingly well on mosquitoes, no see-ums, gnats, and even black flies. I use the handheld one in an open jeep, in the woods of Vermont in July-without a single bite from any and all flying biting bugs. I've had several serious reactions from black fly bites and was hospitalized for a week due to one of those reactions from black fly bites, through 100% DEET spray, and cannot afford to be bitten. These cartridge fueled products work. I also use lanterns on my back deck and the hand held ones in my yard. I'm upstate NY and the biting bugs are thick. -
Question: Can you use it around food?
Answer: Hi, You should cover food while using the device, move the device so that food is beyond the zone of protection, or turn the device off prior to serving food. -
Question: Is the Thermacell perimeter system effective in breezes and wind?
Answer: Hi, Thermacell will work in a slight wind. If it is very breezy or windy you may not need a repellent. -

Question: Can this be turned on and off or do you have to burn through the entire fuel cartridge? Thanks
Answer: It can be turned off but the pad will need to be replaced after every use or approximately every 4 hours. The butane cartridge will last much longer as long as you remember to turn it off when your done for the evening otherwise it will run until it runs out -
Question: Do you have to use them continuously or can you turn them on and off?
Answer: Good Morning, The Repeller has the functionality to turn it on and off. This Repeller has an off, on, start twist function. To turn it off, twist completely to the off position. If you twist to the on position the repeller will not be ignited but it will use up your fuel if not twisted to the off position. Thank you for question and I hope this helped -
Question: Are they rechargeable? What is the power source?
Answer: On the top side there are small blue pads that are replaceable. One will last about 8 hours several come in the box. Where it removes from the steak you reach up underneath and replace a butane cartridge. I think the box comes with four butane cartridges and each one will last for about 16 hours. No battery or electric needed. Only a small butane powered flame heating the pad to release repellant. -
