Question: Can you install it on the door instead of the wall? Thank you
Answer: It is not recommended to hang on the back of a door because as the door is opened and closed, the items you hang will slide and/or could fall off. It is best to hang on something stationary (like a wall). -
Question: What is the maximum weight you can hang on a hook?
Answer: I have about 8 pounds on it. -
Question: Does it mount on one screw?
Answer: I believe it is a minimum of three screws mounted into anchors (or a stud if you're lucky) -
Question: Could this be mounted with 3m mounting tape?
Answer: It is not good idea, because this item can't hold itself plus some weight on it, if mounted with the tape. -
Question: How long are the hooks? I'm not so sure one of these will hold my dustpan.
Answer: The hook is kind of like a "L" shape. From top to bottom it measures 2 1/4". The bottom of the "L" that extends away from the organizer measures 1 1/4". It will hold my dustpan. However, you may need to space out the items you plan to hang to make it fit, or remove the dustpan before choosing an item on either side of the dustpan. -
Question: Can this be mounted to a door using Command Strips?
Answer: No. Technically you could mount it, but it would fall off after you hung something from it. I mounted it to studs in my wall due to the weight of the tools hanging from this wall organizer. This rack is heavy duty, but it’s only as strong as its attachment to the wall. -
Question: How wide of a handle will it hold? I’d like to hang my vacuum cleaner accessories on it.
Answer: I have pretty much what the advertisement shows by way of hung items. It is sturdy and a very nice product, which is on my finished garage wall. They are really meant for brooms, or any hanging of that type. I have my swiffer hung there. Not sure about hollow 3-4 inch vacuum cords, though. Don't think it will work for them. -
Question: How far does it stick out from the wall alone and with items hung on it. I am trying to see if it could work in a shallow depth cabinet. Thank you
Answer: I mounted my unit on a garage wall, just as you would enter the side door to kitchen. The unit itself is very flush, so only about 1.5 inches there. Then I placed some brooms on it, so the area became more like 2 inches, bearing in mind that the brooms and mops are flushed to the wall and not sticking out from it. I do, however, use a swiffer mob and that item added to the Oxo wall mounted unit, does increase the overall jut out to about 5-6 inches. I love this system as it is well made and helps me keep very organized. Hope this helps. Peace. -
Question: Can someone tell me how long the screws are??? the wall i want to attach this to has a pocket door so i can only go 1 inch max on screw... thank you
Answer: You could use your own screws of shorter length. However, I would not recommend installing something that would carry the expected weight of a full rack on a wall with a pocket door unless you hit studs. -
Question: Will this hold the Swiffer WetJet?
Answer: It holds my regular Swiffer. The clips are very flexible so I can't imagine there would be a problem with the wet jet but I don't have one.
