Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question: Will this clean grout in a shower?
Answer: While our CLR Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover is safe to use on porcelain or ceramic tiles and WHITE GROUT ONLY (no other color), it's specifically formulated to dissolve mineral deposits caused by hard water (calcium/lime), rust and/or soap scum. Depending on what you're looking to remove from your grout, it may or may not be effective. -
Question: Is it ok to use on marble counter top? Stone tops?
Answer: We do not recommend using our CLR Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover on any natural stones, especially marble. The acids in our product which are effective in dissolving mineral deposits, are detrimental to natural stones. -
Question: Will this unclog my dishwasher?
Answer: Depending on the cause of the clog, if it's due to a buildup of soap residue and/or mineral deposits caused by hard water, we recommend following the instructions below, however it's always best to refer to your manufacturer's cleaning directions first: We recommend pouring ½ cup of CLR Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover directly into the bottom of an empty dishwasher (no glasses, dishes or flatware but the racks can stay). Run a normal cycle followed by an extra rinse cycle. This will clean out the lines, jets and tub of the machine preventing mineral deposits from accumulating on your glasses, dishes and flatware in the future. Note: Make sure the dishwasher does not contain any other detergents, rinse aids or chemicals when using our product. -
Question: I a huge jar of coins can i use this product to clean my loose chain coins like quarters nickel and dimes pennys?
Answer: We do not recommend using our CLR Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover on any metals other than chrome or stainless steel only. Coins are made of alloys, therefore we don't recommend using our product on coin -
Question: Can this safely be used in the drum of a washing machine?
Answer: We recommend pouring ½ cup of CLR directly into the bottom tub of an empty washing machine (no clothes, no other detergents). Run a normal cycle followed by an extra ‘rinse’ cycle. This will clean out the lines, jets and tub of the machine. If you have a HE (High Efficiency) washing machine use only ¼ cup of the CLR as these types of machines use less water. Please make sure there are no other detergents or chemicals in the machine prior to using our product. -
Question: Is this septic safe?
Answer: Yes, our CLR Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover is Septic Saf -
Question: Do i need to mix a clr calcium, lime, rust remover with warm water before pouring it into a dishwasher or not? thank you.
Answer: No you do not need to add water. We recommend pouring ½ cup of CLR Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover directly into the bottom of an empty dishwasher (no glasses, dishes or flatware but the racks can stay). -
Question: can it be used on fiberglass shower walls?
Answer: Yes, our CLR Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover is safe to use on fiberglass (no acrylic or vinyl) & recommend always spot testing first -
Question: Can I use this product instead of Lysol washing machine cleaner+sanitizer? Thank you.
Answer: While our CLR Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover has been proven safe and effective in washing machines to clean out the lines, jets & tub of the machine, we always recommend checking with your manufacturer's cleaning directions first. -
Question: Will the clr help dissolve uric acid in pipes in toilets?
Answer: Yes, while our product isn't formulated as a 'plumbing' product, if you know the slow draining is due to a build up of mineral deposits and/or uric acid we recommend removing all of the water from the toilet bowl. Apply 1/2 cup of our CLR Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover directly into the bottom of the bowl. After 5 minutes flush the toilet. Repeat this process, if necessary. IF after 3-4 applications with no significant improvement, we recommend contacting a professional plumber.
