Question: To the seller only: Will this work with extremely wide calves? One we have will not go high enough on his legs. Thank you.
Answer: Great question! If you put the Sock Ox wings on the widest grooves then the opening will be 6" wide which might not be enough to get up over the entire calf, but hopefully is wide enough to get the sock started and up over the heel and lower part of the calf. Depending on how much your socks will stretch you might even be able to have the Sock Ox sock aid pull away from the calf a little bit as well and allow for the sock to be pulled up higher on the leg. Hopefully this helps. -
Question: Will this work with short socks ?
Answer: Great question! Yes, it is possible, but it's a little trickier to do because you have to drape at least part of the sock over the grips for it to work and if the sock is a "no show" sock it's hard to do. With an ankle sock there should be enough sock to make it work. Hope that helps! -
Question: Does this sock aid work with socks for small feet? My shoe size is 3 & I don’t want to overstretch my socks.
Answer: Yes, great question! The sock wings adjust to different widths and you can set them to a smaller setting for small socks and feet. -
Question: Does this product work with cotton crew socks?
Answer: I did buy this, but, I don't recommend it. I then purchased the hip kit, the sock helper is on ropes and works much better. This is way too rigid. -
Question: Will this work with compression socks which go to the knee?
Answer: Great question! This product does NOT work with compression socks, but we are working on a different version that will. Thank you for asking :) -
Question: Will Medicare pay for this product?
Answer: That is an excellent question! We are not insurance experts and don't know for sure that Medicare would pay for this product. However, we have tried to offer the Sock Ox sock aid at a price that can be paid with cash without needed to bill insurance. -
Question: Will this sock aid work on the foot of a 300 pound or larger, 5 feet 5 inch guy with large leg calf?
Answer: I am 5’2” and 220 pounds. I tried this and one other rigid sock pullers. I was able to use this one, but found it to be very awkward to use and uncomfortable against my foot and ankle. I don’t recommend it because of those two issues. I tried daily for a week, I did not give up easily. If the “adjustable wings” were silicone, it might work better. They would not space far enough apart to make it more user friendly. -
Question: Will my husbands co-workers like this aid at the local Fire Departments?
Answer: We certainly hope so! The product is a great sock aid and if that's something they need then it is worth trying. -
