Question: What is the silicon pad piece that has no holes used for?
Answer: any pill you may have that does not fit the cut-outs in the other pads. It is merely to decrease slippage between a pill and the hard plastic -
Question: Does this cut small rounded pills without a score mark in the pills, and not have it crush the pill? I don't like the pill to be crushed upon cutting.
Answer: It looks like it would but I received mine broken straight out of the box. I also think it depends on the pill and inactive ingredients like binders that cause a pill to break/ split unevenly. There are silicone inserts that hold your pill in place for an even split. Hope this helps. -
Question: There is one blade? If so, do the halved pills need to be rotated to quarter them?
Answer: There is one blade. You will need to re-center the pill after cutting in half, not necessarily rotate it. This cutter comes with precut molds to help keep pills of various sizes in place. I do not use these as my pills do not fit these molds. I really like this cutter. I use it for my dog's medication which has to be cut into eighths. So you can imagine how small that is. It gets the job done.
