Question: What size are replacement tips for the legs? I anticipate walking a lot and wearing out the first set.
Answer: You might need to contact the company about this question. My ruler measures the O.D. of the leg tubing to be 13/16". -
Question: Would this work for someone who has use of only one hand/arm?
Answer: Maybe. I guess it would depend on how you wanted to use it. I found it light enough to switch from using it on just one leg, to using it like a miniature walker. But that's because both my knees are painful, but my left is worse than my right. So I use it mostly on my left side, using my left hand. But when both knees need a rest, I rotate the cane to the front and hold onto it with both hands. The good news is the cane stands upright when I'm switching it, so no fumbling to pick it up. If you have enough strength and dexterity in your one hand, this cane could work. -
Question: Will it help me get out of bed after back surgery I need to stabilize myself as I try and get off the bed
Answer: It did not work for me. Too light and flimsy. When I tried to stand up from my bed, it rocked and I had to grab my dresser. Very disappointed in it. By the way I got as I have arthritis in knees and lower back and poor stability. -
Question: Do you have to assemble?
Answer: It comes in 2 pieces, the main arch and the legs. The legs slip into the main arch tubes and you adjust the height by sliding this piece until the adjustment pegs slip into one set of the height adjustment holes. If it isn't the right height for you the first time, you just push the little pegs in and slide the legs up or down until you have the cane the correct height, (The large arch should be even with your wrists when you are standing with your , arms hanging at your sides). I think there's videos for all of this that are probably clearer than my directions, but I'm on a different computer and can't play the videos right now. It's very simple to put together if a 70+ lady can do it and I had it out of the box and adjusted in about 5 minutes. -
Question: It says the feet are foldable for easy storage. How do you fold them?
Answer: When you push the button to adjust the height, you can also rotate the feet to be parallel to the body of the cane. the feet can also be removed for storage or shipping. -
Question: What kind ofTip replacement
Answer: Hello ! I owned mine for over a year now. No wear on mine at this point. Husband says that it seems to a common rubber tip easily found at a hardware, given he works part time at a big box hardware store I think you'd be safe with knowing that. However, I've found the company to be responsive to questions. As an important side note ... I LOVE MY ROCK STEADY. I have balance issues and having it by my side and going from a sitting to standing position it is rock steady until my equilibrium catches up to my position. -
Question: Will medicare cover the rock steady cane?
Answer: I don't think so, but I didn't try to get Medicare to help. -
Question: Can you take this on an airplane?
Answer: Yes, I have done so several times. I just turn the feet sideways and put it in the overhead. on one occasion they put it in a front storage compartment. -
Question: What is the lowest overall height for this product when assembled (lowest height adjustment)?
Answer: I set the Rock Steady to the lowest (shortest) height. It measures 30.75 inches from the floor to the top of the padded bar. At the tallest setting, it is about 38 inches from the floor to the top of the padded bar. -
Question: Could this provide added support in shower for someone who doesn't want to use a seat?
Answer: Yes we a couple of people who use the Rock Steady Cane in the shower. One of them uses it over the side of the bathtub to help them get in and out, as well as stability while showering.
