- In winter, all the liquid will be in the bulb, since it will show room temperature. You can use it without shaking it the first time you take it out of the box. If not, reset (shake) the thermometer before use.
- It is designed to have a stop feature on the tube, this helps you lock down the data. It can go up, but it can't go down automatically unless you shake it (tip down)
- Change the viewing angle slightly by 3-5 degrees by rotating the thermometer, so you can easily read your temperature.
- Don't put it into hot water as the high temperature will be out of the range of the thermometer, causing it to break.
- Do not put it in the refrigerator or cold water to reset it, the only way to lower the liquid is to shake the thermometer vigorously.
