Question: For the ovulation kit, how early can a positive show up?
Answer: Thank you for asking Crystal T. Usually women will find their LH surge somewhere in the middle of their menstrual cycles for the month. These OPK tests will help better determine when that can happen for you. I would follow the manual to first locate your menstrual cycle days. For example, 28 day cycle, a person would test on cycle day 12 ( using cycle day as the first day of the last period). Testing at 2pm or after and reducing liquids a couple hours before testing can help with best samples to find surges. To learn more about testing, please reach out directly. Question: Do these tests worrk if you're still breastfeeding twice a day only & are having regular periods? Thanks!
Answer: Thank you for asking the question. During the first six months after giving birth, breastfeeding can be a hindrance in conceiving again. This is due to the natural presence of prolactin. Prolactin is a hormone that helps to make breast milk. Prolactin also helps to prevent the eggs releasing from your ovaries. This typically leads to the absence of both menstruation and ovulation. However, no two women are ever alike, and neither are their hormone levels. For some women their ovaries can still release eggs monthly, even if prolactin is present during lactation. In your case, if you are having consistent periods while breast-feeding, the chances are better your LH level are high enough that ovulation can occur every month and your prolactin levels may not be effecting your periods or ovulation. Our ovulation tests are meant to be used as a tool to track your ovulation using your menstrual cycles. We provide a chart so you can find out the best time to start testing. Here are some stats on Breastfeeding and how it affects Ovulation and Pregnancy: Percentage of Menstruation w/o Ovulation after giving birth: 0-6 months - 67% ; after 6 months - 22% Average time between 1st period & Ovulation: 0-6 months - 8.4 weeks; after 6 months - 0.1 week Frequency of Ovulation with Lactation: 1st cycle: 45%; 2nd cycle: 66%; Post-weaning-1st cycle: 70%; Post-weaning-2nd cycle: 84%; Formula-feeding only: 94% Chance of pregnancy is practically zero during the first three months, less than 2% between 3 and 6 months, and about 6% after 6 months (assuming mom's menstrual periods have not yet returned). This is regarding Mothers who use ecological breast feeding. The average time for the return of menstrual periods is 14.6 months Moms whose cycles return early tend to infertile for the first few cycles. Question: For the ovualtion tests, did the dark line show up right away? This is my first time using an ovulation test.
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. Please make sure to read the manual provided before testing. A sterile fresh sample should be tested before reaching room temperature. Read the results between 3- 5 minutes, but no more than 5 minutes. A control line (top line) should appear and if a test line appears, it is picking up LH, but please make sure to know how to distinguish a true positive for LH peak. Question: When do they expire ?
Answer: It depends in when you buy them. My last box I bought didn't expire for a year and a half. -
Question: Is it normal to have the lh test line come up bold and dark even before the control line has a chance to show up?
Answer: Yes! I have had that happen several times for me!
